Cameras for Asia 2015 report

Wandering cows, bustling trains, vibrant chillies, soaring mountains, peeling doors, laughing children, cups of tea, welcoming people, brilliant saris, the grain harvest… Visiting India is all about colour, life, noise and connection. The month long photography program in September/October was the third trip for Cameras for Asia to India and the program returned to some familiar places and also visited some new ones.

From Instagram: A beautiful woman delights the eye

“A beautiful woman delights the eye; a wise woman, the understanding; a pure one, the soul.” ~ Minna Antrim. Does it really need saying? Indian women are beautiful, and not just for their colourful clothes and ready smiles, but their relational and accepting ways, their willingness to serve and engage. In their presence I felt comfortable and safe, delighting in that easy sisterhood women share around the world and grateful for how they willingly cooked for me even when there was little to share, swept my room, brought me endless cups of tea and coffee, sat with me to keep me company, loved me like a sister, gave hugs and kisses, and generally served me in ways I didn’t deserve. Thank you. #indianwomen #iloveindia #lonelyplanetindia #india #women #womenswear
