Langkawi is an archipelago of about 100 islands off Malaysia’s north west shores. Here are a few images of the sandy beaches, irridescent paddy fields and natural beauty of the place from a trip there last week. The tough job of the week was to write a short guide to Langkawi and get some shots.

I’ve been uploading a lot of images of Vietnam of late to the new interface. The numerous images I took of Vietnamese round boats stood out from the various shots I took along the southern and central coasts.

The boats are often used near shore or to get to/from larger boats. They require some skill with the paddle – otherwise you do go around in circles. They are also called bamboo boats.
