I spent the afternoon yesterday with “Mark in the park”, the resident “swagman” who has lived in the park across the road from us on and off for the past seven years.

Mark is the first subject in my “Faces of Brisbane” project which I’ll be undertaking over the next 12 months or so, interviewing and photographing the myriad of people and faces from this multicultural and multi-faceted city.

I’ll add the text/sound bites/photos as I go for each person. The images will be shot in black and white.

This image of Mark I actually took a few years ago when he had broken his leg and was confined to a wheelchair. For some the bike might seem a distraction but the nature of Mark’s location is that people can call in and see him by any means and he does have a flow of visitors. I’ll add the recent shots of Mark shortly.
